In a press release received by Yangcisticated on Wednesday (24/2), Razer explained that the Kiyo Pro relies on a feature called Adaptive Light Sensor. This feature is claimed to help produce better images even when gamers are in low light conditions.
Even more interesting, the Razer Kiyo Pro is also equipped with an ultra-sensitive CMOS Type 1 / 2.8 sensor and STARVIS technology. According to Razer, STARVIS itself is a back-illuminated pixel technology that is usually used in surveillance cameras.
With this combination, Razer calls this new webcam consistently bright and clear image quality. Not only when the light is bright or in a dim room, backlighting conditions are claimed to be handled properly.
"Aimed at video conferencing and streaming, smooth and clear video quality in any light condition is the most important part of the Razer Kiyo Pro experience," said Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Razer's peripherals division.
Razer Kiyo Pro can produce videos with Full HD or 1080p resolution at 60fps. Razer also provides an HDR mode at 30fps. The wide lens on the Kiyo Pro provides three field of view options, including 103 degrees, 90 degrees, or 80 degrees.
Not to forget, Razer also immersed an omni-directional microphone on the Kiyo Pro. This plug-and-play webcam with USB 3.0 also has flexible mounting, so it can be mounted on a monitor, on a table, or using a tripod.
